Coco Schefmeyer, homeless cat shelter (IN) - F25
Hi Neil,
I wanted to share how your generous grant is helping animals and their humans here in Indiana.
I have permission from David to share his story. Attached are photos of Penny (female, calico) and Brandy (male, white with brown tabby) with their cat dad David. Last month, the three were reunited after being separated when David lost his housing arrangement.
These two cats came to live with me for 6 weeks when David was homeless. I used some of the grant money to get them updated on their rabies and distemper vaccines. His apartment complex required that the kitties be up-to-date on vaccinations. They each got a 3-year vaccine for rabies (and also distemper) so they are set for a while.
David and I first met at Motels4Now more than three years ago and I fixed/vaccinated/microchiped his two cats. For three years, I have visited Penny and Brandy every month giving them Revolution flea meds (and sometimes food and litter). David is a good cat dad. He is one of my points of light in rescue work and lets me know when stray cats are roaming his neighborhood and need to be fixed.
Thank you for helping me to help David, Penny and Brandy.
I have been using your amazing gift to help other animals in Indiana and will be sending you other stories about animals and their humans.
Thank you very, very much,
Coco
